Email Therapy is not appropriate for crisis situations or any situation where you need an immediate response.

    Guidelines for Email Therapy

    image

Be sure you are comfortable using your computer's email program for therapy.

  • Your email should be 500 words or less, so that your therapist will have time to give proper attention to your concerns

  • Your therapist will give appropriate attention and respond to what you write. That being said, please make your request and understandable as possible. As good as your therapist is, he or she is not a mindreader.

  • You should receive a response from your therapist within 48 hours. If you need a response sooner than that, you should place the words: "Immediate Response Needed" in the subject line of your email. To be safe, allow 24 hours for a response.
