Psychotropic Medications

H ow does God see medications such as antidepressants, sedatives, etc?
- These medications are not cures nor do they bring about important changes in thinking and
behavior. Medications can only be used effectively when combined with counseling, spiritual direction, prayer and participation in the Sacraments.
- Medications do provide symptom relief, making it possible to work with a counselor, spiritual director and God, and
to have more mental peace during the difficult road to recovery.
